Two-Step Verification prompt

2-Step Verification is a method of securing an account by prompting players with an additional six digit code after logging into Wildstar.

Setting up 2-Step Verification

Smartphones

1. Log in to your Wildstar Account on the official site.
2. Under the Account Security section, click on ADD next to 2-Step Verification.
3. Download and install the smartphone app:
Apple Device iTunes App
Android Phone Google Play App
Windows Phone App
4. In Google Authenticator, tap the "pencil" symbol, then the "plus" symbol, and then select either Scan Barcode or Manual Entry.
If you choose Scan Barcode, use your mobile device's camera to scan the barcode (QR) on the screen. You can rename the Account later if you want.
If you choose Manual Entry, make sure that Time Based is selected and enter the Key in the Code section. Be sure to name the Account something you can remember!
5. An email confirmation will be sent once the 2-Step Verification has been added.
6. After logging in to Wildstar, you will now be prompted for an additional six digit code. This is entered by clicking on the buttons on the screens instead of typing with the keyboard.

PC Application

For players that do not have a smart phone, a desktop authenticator can be used.

  1. Download and install the latest Microsoft .NET Framework 4.
  2. Download and unzip WinAuth.
  3. Click the Add button and then select Authenticator.
  4. Name the Authenticator.
  5. Log in to your Wildstar Account on the official site.
  6. Under the Account Security section, click on ADD next to 2-Step Verification.
  7. Copy the code from the web page into the Secret Code box in WinAuth.
  8. Copy the verification code in WinAuth to the Code section of the web page.
  9. Click OK in WinAuth to save the Authenticator. Adding a password to WinAuth is optional but recommened.
  10. An email confirmation will be sent once the 2-Step Verification has been added.
  11. After logging in to Wildstar, you will now be prompted for an additional six digit code. This is entered by clicking on the buttons on the screens instead of typing with the keyboard.

Disabling 2-Step Verification

  1. Log in to your Wildstar Account on the official site.
  2. Under the Account Security section, click on DEACTIVATE under 2-Step Verification.
  3. This takes you to the 2-Step Verification page. Click DEACTIVATE again and 2-Step Verification is now deactivated.
